Hi guys, Welcome Back to my channel Fishaholic. In this video I’ll show you how to build a stand for an aquarium. I’ve used
two by four in this project and when I went to the hardware store I saw six
meter long board. So I decided to buy it because it was cheap and also got the staff at Bunnings to cut it to the required size. So these are my cut-to-size two-by-fours boards. 4 boards 124 cm in length, 6 boards 82 cm in length, 10 boards 64 cm and another 10, 28 cm in length. I’ll let you enjoy this video
with some music in the background and if there are any questions, please feel free to post in the comment section below Line up all the boards, 124 cm boards goes long way and 28 cm boards goes sideways. Use any wood glue or cheap glue, it is optional but would definitely increase strength of Aquarium Stand. 64 cm uprights are now secured with 4 screws, 2 from each side. Line up the boards again, exactly the same way i have done it earlier and don’t forget to use glue if available. I am using 2 screws to attach board at the front. And 4 screws to attach board on the side, 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom. As it will drill through 2, two by fours. One is the upright and other is for the board just recently attached. Aquarium stand already looks very solid, still some bracing needs to be done. I am using 28 cm boards to brace the fish tank stand. Minimum 4 is recommended. 2 screws to secure it from the side and 1 screw to support it from the inside. Same process to attach the other side of the 2 x 4’s. I am adding some more 2 x 4’s to brace the aquarium stand which will increase the holding capacity. Additional bracing is optional for a 4 foot aquarium but there is no harm in using excess wood for this purpose. However, leveling is crucial and the use of a spirit level is highly recommended for this task. Use 2 screws to join the wood to the frame from both sides, later on i added a 3rd screw which is optional.
