GRUBBIN’ AT TSUKIJI FISH MARKET & HARAJUKU | Japan vlog #5

My hot sake. Junmai hot sake? Yep. Oh, man. It’s really good. It’s really sweet.
Jeff: Oh, I can smell it. It’s… I can hella smell it. It’s really good. I like it! Yeah? It’s like 11am. Drinking already. It’s pretty rich. Yeah? Like it doesn’t burn your throat or anything. Smooth. Super smooth. So they actually give you a generous amount. This whole cup is pretty much full of sake. Uh, smells like sake. It’s not bad. It IS smooth actually. Yeah, it’s not bad. I don’t know. I’m kind of a… …kind of a girl. I like fruity flavors because…just cuz. The fruity one was like an extra hundred yen. But I like it. It’s good. I think it’s actually pretty good since it’s cold out right now. So, good choice. It’s lobster miso soup. Lobster miso soup? Oh, nice. I like the guy’s hat. I really like it. It was like a little…yeah. Oh, that’s good! Really good. Does it just taste like miso soup with some lobster flavor? Yeah. We’re here getting an uni bun and it’s ya boy right here. Look at this. Mr. Paolo. This guy. Elisa loves his channel. Dang, so what’s this? A black bun? I’m assuming it’s like squid ink or something? Squid ink, charcoal… Squid ink, charcoal bun? Yeah. They just scooped a hole and dumped uni in there. With some cream sauce on there. Damn…that looks bomb! I don’t think I can eat it yet. Look how much uni is in there. Oh dang, it just goes all the way in. There’s like uni and cream. Mmm… Dang… That was creamy! How is that? It’s really good! Really good? Mmhmm… Is it super like…? I only got the cream right now. I haven’t tasted the uni on top. Yeah, it looks like it’s kinda hard to eat right now cuz it’s scalding. Last thing you wanna do is have that cream coat the top of your roof. Err…the roof of your mouth. (laughs) The top of my roof? Top of your roof. Yeah. Don’t you just hate it when you get…
Elisa: It sounds so bad. Don’t you hate it when you get cream all over your…ceiling? (laughs) Okay, stop it! Get your mind out of the gutter! This is REALLY good! Yeah? It’s really creamy. It’s really creamy? It’s really soft. Is it a strong uni flavor? Like not overpowering? I have no idea. Have you had it before? You’ve never had uni before? Never had uni before. Oh well, we just popped your cherry then. Get YOUR mind out of the gutter. This is really good though! Baby, I think you got a little something on your face. Don’t do drugs. But what if drugs taste like this? Uh, then that’s okay. When you come to Japan, you definitely gotta get one of these mochi strawberries cuz they’re super good. I don’t feel like splurging and getting the white strawberry. I heard the white strawberry isn’t all that good anyways. So, I’ll just stick with the traditional red strawberry. Soo good! Not only is there mochi, but there’s some kind of cream. So depending on which one you got. Elisa got one with custard in it. Mine looks like some sort of green tea paste. Super, super good. Highly recommend it. Which one did you get? The 500 yen one? Fruity. The fruity one? How is it? It’s…it’s fruity. It’s good. I feel like ice cubes would actually make it taste a little smoother right now. But I do enjoy it though. The chef’s recommendation? Which one was that one? The one on the bottom. It has a hint of fruit and stuff in it. It’s pretty good. Not bad. I normally don’t like sake, but this is fire. Yeah, I kinda like hot sake because it’s kinda like bitter tea. It’s the only way to drink it. So me and Mike got the snow crab. Snow crab, right? Yeah. Yeah, we got the snow crab legs. Or tempura? It looks bomb. Why don’t you try it, man? This is for you. I think that’s the face of a satisfied customer. I like how they got a little extra with it. Yeah, it’s pretty tight with the wing. Yo, that joint is… It’s good. I was gonna say something, but it’s for off camera. It’s so good… It is so good right now. Is there seasoning on it or something? Yeah. What kind of sauce is that? That don’t look like teriyaki. Teriyaki. It is? It’s teriyaki. It tastes kind of like chicken, but it’s rubbery. Yeah, like chewy, but tender at the same time. It has like a seafood flavor…like from the ocean flavor. I don’t know. Cesar’s eating a strawberry while he has squid in his mouth. It’s a good combination! Seafood and strawberries. Elisa says it tastes like it has sugar in it. Maybe it does. You don’t have to dip it. You just like…NOM NOM NOM. We just wrapped up at the Tsukiji Fish Market. Had a lot of good food. Didn’t eat too much cuz I gotta save my stomach for later, but Just ate a little bit here and there, shared food with a lot of people just so we could try a variety of things. And we ended up eating at that world famous sushi restaurant. Forgot the name of it. The one with the statue out front. It’s like he’s trying to give me a hug. It’s okay. I’ll give him a hug if I see him. He looks like a nice guy. We’re going to walk over to Ginza right now, just walk through that real quick. More than likely not going to buy anything because I’m poor. But we’ll take a look since me and Elisa didn’t actually check out the area last time. We decided not to go to Shibuya right now because it might be rush hour traffic pretty soon, so we decided to come over to Harajuku. So we are currently now at Takeashita and we’re going to go walk around, get some dessert, get some food, maybe hit up a cat cafe and maybe later on tonight, hit up the Kawaii Monster Cafe for desserts. So, follow me! This is a creme brulee crepe. It’s got the torched sugar on top. Scorched on top. Sweet. This is where it’s at. I love creme brulee. Never had a creme brulee crepe, but there’s a first for everything! So I thought this thing was just the sugar thing on top, but it’s legit a creme brulee. It has the flan or whatever fluffiness on the inside. It is magically delicious. We need these back at home! Right? We should open up a shop. I’m gonna be sad. I know, right? I’m gonna order a couple more… Yeah? While we’re here… A couple more? Cesar is on crepe number 2 because he ordered something else that wasn’t the creme brulee one. This is like a burnt marshmallow and I love it. It’s delicious, that’s why I had to order a 2nd one. This time, the right one. This guy just spent 1,200 yen on 2 crepes. First one was 350. Oh, was it? Oh, that’s hella cheaper. So, I only spent $10 on crepes. Okay, that’s not bad. And I would spend about that much back home. Yeah, on a premium one at least. We just got to the shiba cafe and it looks like I have been the chosen one. 可愛い! (cute) So we just left the shiba cafe and it was absolutely adorable. One of them actually just climbed up on my lap and made himself comfortable. I totally want a shiba now. Actually, I’ve always wanted a shiba, but I want one even more so now. We’re gonna go over to the cat cafe because Sylvia and Keya want to check out some more cats. We just finished up at the cat cafe, the Mocha cat cafe specifically. It was actually super cool. It was very well decorated. It had an Alice in Wonderland theme going on in there. It was pretty cool. I wasn’t expecting it to be so heavily decorated. I thought it was going to be something similar to the shiba cafe where there’s people sitting on the floor in a small room, petting cats. I absolutely loved it. The only thing though is they had a little hidden fee where you had to pay 350 per person. You get unlimited drinks, but that’s in addition to $2 or 200 yen per 10 minutes. So, it was cool. I definitely recommend it. Check it out. Anyways, we’re now going to go head over to the Kawaii Monster Cafe for some dessert. I just wanna show everybody how over the top Harajuku it is. That’s like the ultimate definition of Harajuku. Elisa got the zaku zaku! It’s like this pastry filled with custard with like, looks like cookie crumbs. Oh, nice! Which one did you get? Just the plain one. The regular one. It tastes like a cream puff! Like a Beard Papa cream puff. They have the crunchy cookie shell. It’s good! Just finished dinner at the Kawaii Monster Cafe. It’s always a lot of fun over there cuz it’s just like a club with a lot of performances. Unfortunately, we ended up going there during some special event or whatever, so we had to pay $20 cover charge per person, which included one “alcoholic” beverage, which didn’t even have alcohol in it. At least I didn’t taste any alcohol. It was cool. It was still an experience. Everyone enjoyed it. I only ate a little bit of pasta. I wanted it more for photo ops because it’s a rainbow pasta with 5 different sauces. We’re now heading over to eat some more. We’re still actually pretty hungry. Gonna go get some okonomiyaki, which I haven’t had in a while. So, definitely hella craving it right now. It’s been a long day. We’ve done so much. Eaten so much. I’m about ready to call it quits for the day. So, thanks for watching! Make sure to hit that subscribe button if you haven’t already done so. Until tomorrow, peace!
