Hello everyone. Thank you for

Now, on with relaxing. Hello everyone. Let’s get ready to Be
Calm an Ahway Island. Have you been taking your deep dragon breaths? They’re so
relaxing. Now, let’s see if you have everything you want for our story today.
Are the lights in your room dim are off? Do you have your favorite blanket or
listening buddy? Before we begin our story, let’s relax. First, set your
listening buddy to your side and let’s take three deep dragon breaths. Breathe
in through your nose, filling up your chest and belly, and then out through
your mouth, pretending you are breathing fire. Ready?
Okay. Deep breath in and out. (Deep Breath) Again, deep breath in and out. (Deep Breath) Last one. Fill up your chest and belly.
Deep breath in and out. (Deep Breath) Today you’re going to think about how
your body feels resting on earth. This is all pretend so you’re very safe. You’ll
start by thinking about your feet, slowly move up to your head, and end with
thinking about your entire body. Now, let’s find your earth. It is a warm
and cozy beach. The sun is shining on the sand, causing each grain to sparkle. You
sit down in the soft warm sand. The sand hugs you as you lie back on the cozy
beach. Think about your feet as you place them in the sand. Focus on how your feet
feel. Are they warm and cozy? Do you feel the soft grains slip between your toes,
gently rubbing your feet. Does the warm sand tickle
the bottom of your feet? Let the sand hug your feet and breathe
like a dragon in and out. (Deep Breath) Next, think about your legs. How do they feel? Sand surrounds and hugs
your legs tight. You feel a comforting squeeze
from the kind earth. The warmth of the beach draws you
in deeper. Now, focus on your back. How
does it feel? Relax down into the sand and breathe like a dragon. (Deep Breath) The soft beach supports you and gives
you a big teddy bear hug. How do your hands feel? Your hands are open with your
fingers spread out, allowing the grains of sand to fall between them. Your hands
relax as they settle into the safe warm sand. Now think about your arms.
How do they feel? Let the sand gently surround your arms
as they slowly soften. Next, focus on your shoulders. Let them settle down into the
warm sand and breathe like a dragon. (Deep Breath) The beach holds your shoulders gently
and gives you a nice cozy hug. Now, think about your neck.
Is it relaxed and soft? Feel the sand support your head like a
pillow as you lie back on the cozy beach. Notice and enjoy the feeling of comfort
as the sand gently cushions your head, loosening your jaw and your forehead.
Warm sand supports your feet, legs, back, hands, arms, shoulders and neck. Relax
and feel the earth hug you tightly. As you continue to relax in the cozy,
warm sand, let’s take three more deep dragon breaths. Deep breath in and out, (Deep Breath) breathing in through your nose and
breathe fire out of your mouth. Again, deep breath in and out (Deep Breath) Last one. Fill up your chest and belly.
Deep breath in and out. (Deep Breath) Great job everyone. I hope you’re tucked
in nice and cozy. Okay. I think we’re ready to begin our
story. Let’s Be Calm on Ahway Island. Our
story today is “Octopus Adventure”. Gentle waves rolled across the surface of the
sea. The sun slowly descended, darkening the sky and water. Both sea and sky
became a deep blue with the sea reflecting the twinkling stars and
glowing moon back to the sky. From under her rock Odette the octopus watched the
light slowly fade. She began to glow purple with excitement.
Odette smiled and stretched her arms pulling herself out from under the rock.
The little octopus was ready for some exploring. Odette opened her arms wide
and gently floated like a parachute on the sea current. The sea gently moved the
delicate octopus out away from her home. Odette smiled, ready for whatever
adventure tonight might bring. As the little octopus drifted down to the soft,
sandy floor of the sea, she noticed the other nighttime sea creatures. The sea
stars glowed a soft orange. Little fish reflected the light from the moon and
stars off their yellow stripes. Odette’s world was filled with fantastic
creatures lighting up the ocean. As she settled into the sand, the little octopus
slowly changed colors to match the sea floor. Then Odette looked around, eager to
discover anything new. There was nothing new below her, nothing new to her left,
and nothing new to her right. the octopus sighed, then she looked up.
Shadows drifted over her, blocking the light from the stars and moon. The
suckers on the little octopus glowed brighter purple as her curiosity
increased. Odette took a deep dragon breath in, drawing in a bunch of water. Then she
blew the water out quickly and zipped closer to the dark shapes. As the octopus
reached the object blocking out the night sky, Odette clasped it with
her suckers. Her arms began to change to the deep blue
color of the bottom of the object. Her suckers pulsed with their purple glow as
the octopus tasted it. Soon she realized it was just a wooden boat.
Nothing too exciting. The little octopus let go of the bottom
of the boat and began to drift away on the current, when suddenly there was a
splash. Startled, Odette used her dark ink to cloud the clear water. She took a deep
dragon breath in and out, (Deep Breath) zipping away towards the nearest
comforting rock. Safely under the rock Odette blended into its browns
disappearing once more. As she began to feel more curious, her suckers glowed
purple once more. The little octopus peered out from under the rock and saw
something peeking at her through the cloud of ink. It was a creature she had
never seen. Slowly the ink dispersed and the water was clear once again.
Odette propelled out from under the rock. Her curiosity was stronger than her
concern. The little octopus hovered in front of the green creature with red
fins, at least that’s what Odette thought they were, and wrapped her arms around
the Dragons snout. Odette slowly began to turn green to
match the dragon. she realized that this was the same creature she had seen
before. Now the dragon felt surprised and began to lift its head out of the water.
As dragon reached the surface, Odette hopped off the Dragon’s snout and
hovered in the water, curious to see what the dragon would do next. She glowed deep
purple with anticipation. As her skin color returned to turquoise blue
matching the sea, Dragon was puzzled at this creature that would have
disappeared into the sea if it weren’t for the soft purple glow. Sandy the
sailboat laughed and said “It looks like you have a friendly octopus. Odette
swam closer to the dragon. Feeling that Dragon was kind, she wrapped her arms
around the Dragon’s paw, once again turning green. Dragon carefully lifted
the octopus up. Odette looked at Dragon for a moment, smiled and once again pushed
herself off back into the sea. The little octopus twirled her arms around in a
circle waving goodbye to the dragon and headed back to her own cozy rock on the
water’s current. As she neared her home, Odette hopped off
the current and pulled herself up and under her rock. she pulled her arms in
tight and took a deep dragon breath in and out (Deep Breath) Odette thought about how grateful she
was to have explored the deeper waters. Today she had found the boat and a new
creature. Odette took another deep dragon breath
in and out (Deep Breath) She hoped she would meet the
dragon again. The little octopus tucked
herself a little deeper under the rock and took another deep dragon breath in
and out (Deep Breath) The purple glow from her suckers slowly
faded as Odette fell asleep wondering what she would discover next. Thank you
for joining us to Be Calm on Ahway Island. See you next time.
