“EXTERNAL OTITIS” External otitis is a very common diving problem. It is a painful situation which can be aggravated by moisture in the external canal. Differential diagnosis from otitis media is done by pulling the ear or pressing the tragus. If that maneuver increases pain, we are dealing with external otitis. Local and systematic antibiotics are used and entrance of water in the external canal is prohibited for several days.
