St. Augustine Lions Seafood Festival

we’re reeling up the catch of the day the st. Augustine lion seafood festival is Friday through Sunday joining me now Dominic Macario the festival chairman and John Dickey you’re the president of this whole thing too right yeah all right so what can we expect for seafood festival well you can expect food fun and shopping the food as you know it’s primarily seafood it is online the menus so you can pre decide what you’re gonna have you can shop because we have one of the largest arts and crafts show in all of Florida thanks about a hundred arts and crafts vendors and then tons of live music other types of entertainment magic shows clown shows strolling artists going around and the whole thing will be wrapped up by a an 18th century Fife and drum corps on Sunday that’s awesome is it similar to shrimp fest in Fernandina yeah a little bit of differences in front of Deena they they’re food vendors you have to be like a church oh okay and in our case we use caterers okay so what kind of idea sleazy food but like what look at the screen there so what types of seafood like everything under the Sun or yeah oddly enough usually everything under the Sun every year there’s one thing that I go oh we missed something you know but the two items that I think are unique this year we will have a sushi chef doing fresh sushi Oh see that’s unique all right and that and that’s on the website you can see that menu and also the Kraken the Kraken is that is a giant hull fried squid on top of Asian rice Wow now for those of you don’t eat that obviously you can get fried oysters fried shrimp lobster rolls lobster biscuit on that type of thing and Jon what’s your favorite part of the festival food of course and the live music I’ll be playing on Saturday myself will be and he’s very humble but he’s very very talented lost between all of the three and oh wow well that’ll be fun so live music every night of the festival or Saturday night there’s no time with us not live music oh yeah that’s awesome and it’s a little bit somatic so on Friday it’s Latin salsa night mm-hmm so salsa bands and real lively jazz soda like Dixieland and then on Sunday we concentrate on folk and country and on Saturday it’s a mixture of everything from pop to Motown and last thing I have to ask because it’s st. Augustine and parking you know it’s an issue sometimes when you have what yeah it is so what would your advice be to people who are heading down well we are on Friday and Saturday providing free shuttle and free parking oh nice so anybody come in from the Jacksonville area the two parking lots are actually on the north end of town okay one is on San Marco by the city entrance and the other is at the County Health Department which is right before you get into town yep the shuttles will actually run from before the event opens to two hours at the event closes Saturday and Sunday that’s great well thank you so much for that definitely good to know the festival is from Friday to Sunday at the Francis field in downtown st.
