Welcome in Samvida’s Kitchen Today I am going to share the recipe of Fish Curry. It’s very delicious and I have tried here to cook this more delicious by portraying the video in simple & easy steps. If you like this recipe of fish curry of mine Then do like share and subscribe my channel Samvida’s Kitchen So let’s start with it’s ingredients and processes For cooking Fish Curry here I have taken 750 Gms of fish You may take any Fish of your choice Many people don’t like to eat or have Fishes as they scare of its stick/hook But today I will tell you which Fish we will take and how we will cook for preventing from its sticks So I have chosen KATLA fish which is a sweet water fish and I have washed it after taking out for 10 minutes from water which was added with 2 tbsp of salt and then I washed it thoroughly with normal water By allowing it to remain in salty water for 10 minutes The stink of fish if you feel will get vanished and get neutralised and also that cleans the fish well. So I will suggest you to do the same before cooking it. So in the very first process of fish curry I will deep fry the all pieces and for deep frying I have taken a bowl filled with 4 tbsp of corn flour and will add 1 tsp of turmeric powder 1 tsp of Kashmiri Lal Mirch Powder If you are adding plain red chili powder then decrease the amount to half Now I will add slight salt less than your taste because we will add salt in it’s gravy too Now by adding water in steps and in little amount I am preparing a thick batter of this Mixing it well. make sure there is no lump into this Now it is done Consistency is noticeable here Now I am pouring this batter over the Fish Pieces And mixing this batter well within this bowl You may mix it with hand but be cautious of its sticks See here a thin layer has come over the all fish pieces Everything is well mixed here Now I will deep fry these pieces For deep frying here I have placed a lot of mustard oil in a kadai and it is well heated Now set the flame on medium I will deep fry these pieces in 2-3 batches seperately So let’s start putting these pieces into the oil Be very careful while deep frying as these pieces may sparkle any time We will not stir these just after putting inside have to allow them to get golden brown from the down side This is also the trick which allows you to get a perfect whole deep fried pieces Fish cooked in mustard oil enhances the taste of fish curry So you also try to cook it in mustard oil. In about 2 minutes it turns golden brown from downside So I am going to turn these all from up to down Now allow it to get golden brown from this side also. Now these are done from both the sides. Now taking them out with a stainer after placing them in this stainer hold them for seconds so the excess oil would be drained out in kadai and then keep them in a plate We will deep fry the rest of fishes in this way only. All are well deep fried here see If you prefer to have less oil then go for shallow fry these pieces But with the same batter what I have shown Now will move to prepare it’s curry For making gravy/ curry I have here a grinding Jar I am going to add 2 tbsp whole mustard seeds (Yellow) 1*1/2 Tbsp coriander seeds 1 tsp of black peeper and here I have 2 tsp of wet khash khash/ posto I placed them in water for around 10 minutes if soaked in water we can easily grind them If you don’t have these you can add 8-10 ground nut after grinding them don’t add more than 10 Adding this too with all spices for grinding I will use after grinding these all spices You can use powder of these spices too if you have So now we will grind this after adding some water into it All spices are done I have grinded these well Apart from this we need 2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste 1 tsp of turrmeric powder 1 tsp of kashmiri lal mirch powder I have used 1 tsp in fish before deep frying and again 1 tsp we will add And in Tadka we will add this two whole red chilies too So you please adjust adding tanginess in food as per your taste. 3 tomatoes finely chopped of medium size And for Tadka apart from whole red chili I will use 1 tbsp of mustard seeds (black) and 1 tsp of Kasuri methi too Kasuri methi enhances the taste of Fish Curry So don’t skip adding it in this curry Salt we have added in fish before frying too so here add less and 2 tbsp of green coriander leaves for garnishing this after cooking. So let’s move to cook curry For cooking curry I have added 3-4 tbsp of oil from the oil in which we fried the fishes. Set the flame on low after heating this Add now black mustard seeds after crackling of this Now add whole red cili Turmeric powder Kashmiri Lal Mirch Powder By adding these spices at this point of time enhances the colour of cooking Now add and saute ginger garlic paste for filtering its taste after few seconds adding our spices which i had grinded mix it well Some water in the spice jar and adding in the spices For 1 minute on low flame these all have to be sauted After 1 minute adding the chopped tomatoes into it Mix it too Now add salt after mixing it we will cook it covered on low flame for next 5 minutes In between we will check it too after completion of 5 min uncover it and check mix/stir it well I checked it by stiring in between the cooking and now here we has to be used Kasuri Methi Mix it well. Don’t add it with Tadka it is very tender and may burn in hot oil in starting especially here as we are busing mustard oil and that too more heated After mixing it again this has to be allowed for cooking on low flame for another 5 minutes Don’t make a hurry while cooking the spices Fish Curry will be more tastier if this part is done calmly as instructed. Check it for stiring in between. After 5 minutes again we will check it Mixing it You can see the lovely colour and texture of fish curry So these spices are totally cooked for 10 minutes on low flame and by covered with lid Spices are well cooked and now And after everything cooked here I will roast these all on high flame I will roast this for 15-20 seconds this is my way of cooking and believe me it works a lot. in curry, this spice will add more deliciousness I always cook spices in this method and process I have used a non stick kadai in whole process if you are using any other metal Then do all the cooking process with more care otherwise these spices may overcooked or may burn also Now this is completely done adding 2 cups of normal water You may add water as per your requirement After mixing it set the flame on high position and allow it to get boil At boiling point we will add all deep fried Fishes into it We will mix it carefully in the curry This has been stired well at high flame Now put off the flame Need not to cook now as all our fish pieces are well deep fried here If your fishes are shallow fried then allow it to cook for 1 minute by covering it. now sprinkle chopped green coriander leaves Now I will allow it to rest for 2 minutes by covering it After 2 min I will serve it in a serving bowl After 2 minutes here it gets uncovered and mixing it and now will serve it Multiple times better taste as by it’s texture So you once please try this recipe of mine in your kitchen and serve it with hot rice and chapatis let me know by giving comments and for such unmatched, original and easy recipes please don’t forget to Subscribe my channel Samvida’s Kitchen.
