Visiting a floating market, fish farm & Cham Muslim community in Chau Doc, Mekong Delta, Vietnam

Today is day three of our Mekong Delta Tour
and we have just finished visiting a fishing village and now we are going to be visiting
some of the other communities along the river. We’re just cruising down the river and we
can see all of these different floating homes. Today we are visiting the Cham community,
which is an Islamic Village in the South of Vietnam. Hello. We’re going to be visiting a fishing farm
where we’re going to be feeding fish.

  1. No, we didn't see them doing that! Sounds like a lot of fun. We did have a lot of kids running to the door (overlooking the river) and waving and yelling hello our way. 🙂

  2. The Cham's controlled South Vietnam and actually conquered and sacked Siem Riap in the 16th Century. The Cambodians enlisted the Thai Kingdom of Ayutthaya to chase the Cham's out of Cambodia. The Thais took over Battembang for 200 years, as payment. Eventually the Dai Viet's conquered all of South Vietnam.
