Youtube Batting Tips: How to hit a baseball like Mike Trout by being selectively aggressive!

Hey everyone, how you doing? Welcome to AOB
TV. Today’s video is on how to hit a baseball like Mike Salmon — Halibut — Tilapia — Bass
Trout. All right guys so today’s batting tips is
on how to hit a baseball like Mike Trout. Now you know, a lot of expectations are going
to be put on him this year because he’s had a really successful year and his — his
rookie season, and you know, when I look at his swing some of the words that kind of come
to mind are speed, quickness, strength, and explosive power. Now if you really break down his swing, if
you really analyze it you’ll find out that his mechanics are far from being perfect,
but he’s a perfect example of being someone who with athletic ability, great hitter’s
instinct, and a knowing that you can hit the ball hard is a perfect recipe for being a
dangerous hitter. So what I wanted to talk to you about today, I’m not going to go
into — in depth with his hitting mechanics, what I wanted to talk to you today is about
what I think is one of the most effective elements in his hitting approach. Now what he does, if you — if you haven’t
heard this is that he’s very selectively aggressive. Now what I mean by that is that
he’s looking for one pitch and one pitch only, and if he doesn’t get that pitch he’s
sitting on it. He’s taking it, and he’s waiting until he gets that pitch, and then
when he gets that pitch he’s gonna bust it right? So I was doing some research on his statistics
last year on MLB.com and I found that when he’s ahead of the count, all right, when
he’s ahead of the pitcher and the pitching count is in his favor he’s hitting a whopping
370. All right, now when he’s behind in the count he’s only hitting about 272. That’s
probably about league average, but 370, that’s probably one of the greatest hitters in the
game right now, right? So the question that I wanted to ask you and
the question that I hope that you ask yourself is, how selectively aggressive are you, and
how successful are you being in those key situations. We all know that one o, two o,
three one are the best hitter’s counts to be in. I want to ask you yourself, how selectively
aggressive are you being in those key situations. And then in the comments down below I want
you to tell me whether you are naturally selective or an aggressive hitter. Don’t forget to

all the fun happens. I’ll talk to you guys later.
